CYC
- Dinghy Section
The Club Dinghy
Section offers a comprehensive
cruising and racing programme
throughout the year, organised
by the Dinghy Section Committee.
During the summer season there
is racing each weekend and
in the evenings as tides allow.
Some race series are run on
a handicap basis whilst others
offer class racing for the
Club's adopted classes. Generally
evening and Saturday racing
is handicap and Sunday racing
is usually class. The Club
runs open meetings for the
adopted classes and occasionally
for other classes.
During the summer there is
the very popular open 'family
and junior' week. Training
events for our younger sailors
takes place during half term
and there are also 'after
school' sailing days, again
as tides permit. During the
winter months CYC runs the
highly popular Snowflake series.
This is an open event with
racing in three divisions,
fast, medium and slow. Racing
takes place on Sundays approximately
once a fortnight from early
November to March. See the
Club programme for further
details. There is a programme
of dinghy cruising events
during the season. Ashore
members enjoy excellent facilities
throughout the year for seven
days each week. Afloat members
enjoy extensive sailing waters
for racing and access to the
whole of Chichester harbour
for cruising.
