Yacht Section Visit the Royal Yacht Squadron

On Wednesday 3rd August eight yachts made it through strong winds to berth in the Royal Yacht Squadron harbour, while a further four boat crews took the ferry across to join us for the evening meal at the Squadron, some spending the night in Cowes. We had access to all the castle ground floor rooms, with spectacular paintings and silverware on display, and beautiful views over the Solent. Before changing for the evening, we made use of the smart washroom facilities . We then entered through the main entrance and were served with pre-dinner drinks in one of the lounges, before dining on a single long table down the middle of the Platform Room. The next day everyone went their separate ways, with some boats going on elsewhere, but most enjoying a pleasant sail home. It was a truly memorable occasion, and one we hope to repeat next year.
