CYC Waterfront Improvements Start on the 24th Feb

We have some very exciting improvements to the club facilities starting this spring with the installation of new pontoons. The work in preparation for the installation is going to start next Monday 24th February. The work will begin with the building of the concrete shore structures which will carry the bridges leading to the pontoons. There will be machinery at the club for three weeks while this work is taking place and there will be no access to the pontoons and besides the construction work the bridges to the pontoons will also have to be removed.

Access to the East pontoon working site will be via the alleyway between rows D and E in the dinghy park and to the west pontoon it will be past the racks and the steps outside the Sloop. So there will be no access along the Northern side of the club house. The work will take a maximum of three weeks and will be in normal working hours.

The driving of the piles and the arrival of the West pontoon will not take place until April and will be by sea so this part of the process will not require the same access and so the disruption ashore will be less.
The new pontoons are being supplied by Walcon Marine and they are doing all the preparatory work. They are a very well respected pontoon supplier and very experienced so we are confident that the disruption to club members will be kept to a minimum.

If you have any concerns about this or would like further information please contact the office and we will do our best to help.
