Amberley Loop
Meet at The Sportsman, Amberley, BN18 9NR, 9:45 am for a prompt 10 am start.
It is a MODERATE 6 mile walk
2 steep climbs
1 fairly steep descent
3 easy stiles
To start a pretty walk through the Village of Amberley, across fields outside the Castle walls, leading down to the River Arun, following the bank of the river to join the South Downs Way. We cross the road keeping to the SDW, a gentle walk up to High Titten Farm, followed by a steep but fairly short climb on to the South Downs, with beautiful views in all directions. Follow the path until we reach a fairly steep descent to the Amberley Road, which we will have to negotiate with caution. In a few yards we follow the quiet Rackham Lane, cross one field which meets the Lane again to return to the Sportsman Pub.
We are booked in for lunch at 1 30, to give us ample time for the walk.
If you would like to join for lunch don’t forget to fill in the box ”number of walkers requiring lunch” on the signing in page. I will then send out the menu as they would like us to pre book at least 2 days before.
Max Number is 24
