Socials: CYC Ramblers – Snowdrop Walk
We will meet around 0930 in the car park of the Spotted Cow pub which can be found at the east end of High Street in the centre of Angmering – post code BN16 4AW.
We aim to leave at 1000 for a walk to Highdown Hill and Highdown Gardens. The walk is predominantly on footpaths with no stiles but some inclines to reach the top of Highdown Hill which are not too severe.
Subject to weather there are views on the approach to and atop Highdown Hill across the channel stretching from the Severn Sisters to the IOW and the downs to Arundel to the north. We will then go into Highdown Gardens (free entry) which for those who have not visited previously were created by Sir Frederick & Lady Sybil Stern between 1909 to 1967 and are recognised as one of the leading chalk gardens in the country. All being well the snowdrops are a spectacle – fingers crossed!
We will then return to the Spotted Cow for lunch around 1300.
The max numbers are 30.
