Southwick and Portsdown Hill
Walk from around Southwick and Portsdown Hill – 8 Miles
We are planning to have an extra walk during February. It will start in Southwick and circle the countryside up to Portsdown Hill. The walk will be about 8 miles, with a stop for a packed lunch (please bring with you what you want to eat) at the Nelson’s Monument (no pub lunch). Then continue down to the village of Southwick. There is a nice pub called the Golden Lion to have a drink at the end of the walk, but we will not be finished in time to have lunch.
There is a car park at the rear of the pub, see location linked below, and the start time will be 10 am.
Map to the route.
This is a long walk and in parts could be best described as boggy, so please make sure you are suitably prepared. If there is heavy rain during the week before I may have to rethink this walk, but I will let you know. There is also about 7 stiles to cross during the walk and about 20 minutes on a small narrow country road.
Note: Lunch is not available after this walk.
