Yachts: Cross Channel Plate Race and Cruise
The 2022 May Bank Holiday is both later than usual, & extended by the Queen’s Jubilee. Nevertheless, as per the established precedent of the last few years, we plan to make a Channel Crossing on the day before BH – so Wednesday the 1st . That, of course, is dependent on France being an acceptable destination by then? So, we could end up going to Poole, like last year – more news later… Being optimistic for now, those racing/cruising across to France for just the extended bank holiday weekend can return from Cherbourg on the Saturday or Sunday depending on weather/preference. If you wish to carry on to the Channel Islands, then please book onto that cruise as well. For the racing aspect of the crossing all you need to do is log your start and finish times, so you might as well do so and join in the fun. We will as usual have regular radio position checks so we all know where everyone is on the way across, so you will have company if its your first crossing. More details will be provided at a briefing in the days before departure, which will allow any boats who need to get out of their marina early if required. This will also be an opportunity to ask questions and allay any concerns.
