Yachts : Town Quay Southampton Cruise
The cruise that was going to Marchwood Sailing Club is now rebooked for Town Quay Southampton, thereby still enjoying sailing in waters not seen on the usual Solent cruise.
The cruise includes seeing the delightful Netley Abbey and cruise liner spotting at Southampton docks. Berthing involves rafting up on the walk ashore pontoon, shown on the photograph, but no more than 2 abreast It has shore power and water. The showers facility are of a good standard, and the staff very helpful and friendly. A socially distanced pontoon party will be held on the pontoon, and the plan will be for us all to BBQ individually on that concrete pontoon. There are many pubs in walking distance for those that feel the need to stretch their legs after dinner!
There will not be a briefing in the club, but comprehensive cruise notes will be sent out in good time. For those in Birdham, it is a Trans Europe Marina. Lock bound boats will need to be on their way to Town Quay as soon as the rising tide lets them out. The Itchenor low being at 07.40.
Departure on Sunday for those returning to Chi harbour will be timed to arrive on the tide, with HW Itchenor at 15.30
