Yachts : Round the Island Race / Cruise via Lymington

The CYC Round the Island Race and Cruise, with a stopover berthing at Lymington Yacht Haven again this year.
HW Portsmouth is 15:08, which suggests a 14:00 start at Chi Buoy, so as to make best use of the westward tide. Dinner venue will be a surprise, to be arranged depending on the numbers involved.
Any boat that would like to take part in the race is welcome: you do not need to be an experienced racer to take part; & cruising-only participants are very welcome. With a total of 3 bits of CYC silverware up for grabs over this weekend, entry to the race list is recommended – you have to be in it to win it!
With LW Portsmouth at 0843 on Sunday, those taking part in the return event on Sunday may not even have to get up before dawn (unless the habit is too strong). The route will be around the back of the Island. For those not taking part in the race you may either like to take advantage of the tides to take the long route around the back, or the more direct route home through the Solent.
As usual, we will hold a briefing in the club at 2100 on Friday.
