Youth Training

Fun and Learning

What’s the aim?

Youth coaching aims to improve your sailing and have fun with friends. For those keen to progress to racing, it will prepare and help you to join in the club races, and potentially for selection to the RYA squads.

Can anyone join?010a

Almost. If you can sail round a triangle or have RYA L2, right through to racers.

It is usually for Toppers and Fevas, with Topaz and Picos also welcome. (Oppies can be included by request and subject to demand as they have their own training sessions).

What happens?

Each day usually comprises 2 sailing sessions with a briefing, and often with the use of video to both demonstrate techniques and show the sailors how they are progressing.  For those wanting to race, a 2017-Youth-Coaching-Syllabus leading to the RYA Start and Intermediate racing certificates can be used.

How do I book?

Contact the office to book, no less than 48 hours before the event, ideally booking for all the sessions you wish to do so we can plan the groups, coaches and activities. The cost is £17 for Toppers and £20 for Fevas.

Payment is required at time of booking.

Club boats are available for hire (8 Toppers and 2 Fevas)
