Ramble:Salterns Way and Fishbourne Creek
SALTERNS WAY AND FISHBOURNE CREEK
We will set off at 10am from the Woolpack Pub carpark in Fishbourne (71 Fishbourne Rd W, Chichester PO19 3JJ)
We will head past Fishbourne church to find the Salterns Way bridle path which takes us past the previous location of Appledram airfield.
When we get to the outskirts of the marina, we will have our coffee stop prior to turning back alongside Fishbourne Creek, past Dell Quay, the old Fishbourne tide mill enclosures, through Fishbourne Meadow, past the mill and duck pond and back to the pub for lunch. It will be low tide, so good for bird watching of the waders.
The walk distance is about 5.5 miles on the flat, generally on good surfaces, but be prepared for any muddy bits. Dogs welcome, but there are a couple of short stretches alongside the road.
Lunch will be a buffet at a cost of £14 each. Numbers limited to 30.
