CYC Round the Island Race - this weekend!
The opening race of the 2026 season unusually is the CYC Round the Island Race via Lymington. This due to tides and marina availability. On Saturday we will thunder off (or float off if there is little or no wind) in the general direction of Lymington for an overnight stay on the Dan Bran Pontoon with a group dinner arranged at The Mayflower. Chichester & Birdham Pool Marina Networking Evening
Both Birdham Pool and Chichester marina businesses came together for an evening of networking. As well as stands to visit our members were treated to presentations from several marina tenants explaining what they do and perhaps how they can assist our sailors both on and off the water. Ella Hibbert's Solo Voyage through the Arctic Northwest Passage
Ella came along to talk about her adventures on her solo voyage. Along the way, Ella battled flooding, fire, and running aground, yet persevered and documented the entire voyage through writing and video. CYCs Celtic Longboat, Cygnet, completes the mighty Montford Challenge
CYC Rowing continues to spread its wings across the UK. Last weekend, our Celtic longboat, Cygnet, travelled to Pengwern Boat Club (Shrewsbury) on the Welsh Borders to enter Welsh Sea Rowings Montford Challenge 2026. Montford is the opening race of the Welsh Sea Rowing season and recognised as one of the toughest endurance races out there.
