Hermit's Shakedown Scuttle

The Scuttle is a great opportunity for anyone just getting back on the water for the season ? or new to CYC cruising, as we were just a few years ago ? to enjoy a chilled-out shakedown trip to make sure everything is in tip-top working order for the rest of the season. The plan is simple: we will head out at (hopefully!) a civilised time on Saturday; meet up at Port Solent in the late afternoon for a pontoon party (or pub meet-up if the weather?s horrid); enjoy a convivial dinner at Wildwood (they?ve looked after us wonderfully for the last two years, and the new reservation is in process as I type) and then head back again on the Sunday. Everyone is welcome, and in the last two years we?ve had a lovely mix of new members and more experienced hands on the cruise. If you?re new to Cruising in Company, it?s a great way to break the ice. I hope not literally?. There will be a briefing meeting in the bar on the Friday, for anyone who wants to talk over their plans and compare passage notes, and I?ll also be very happy to chat with anyone before that as needed.
