Littlehampton Cruise
Neap tides on Saturday 22nd, and similarly relaxed tidal flows on the Sunday ? combined with unusually civilised tide times (vs previous years) for an Eastwards cruise - indicate a relaxed mid-morning start from Chichester on Saturday, and the same on the Sunday return leg. No 03.00 start, this year, in order to avoid running aground on the bar on the way home! Littlehampton is a fascinating destination for a variety of reasons: the possibility of dinghy trips up the Arun River; passage-planning nuances round Selsey Bill, and over the Littlehampton Bar (dries out at low water); berthing up on the Town Quay with easy access to all the delights that Littlehampton has to offer. You name it it?s all there, and this year the tides will be very much in our favour unlike some previous years; let?s hope the weather plays ball too. Please note that we will NOT be heading West first as in previous years ? we?ll be heading directly East from Chichester, rather than stopping off at the Great Wall for an all-you-can-eat buffet. There will be a briefing meeting in the bar on the Friday, for anyone who wants to talk over their plans and compare passage notes, and I?ll also be very happy to chat with anyone before that as needed. Please get in touch via the Yacht Section WhatsApp group if you?d like to discuss further
