Marchwood Cruise

On Saturday the cruise visits Marchwood Sailing Club at the head of Southampton Water. A HW Chichester Harbour entrance at 09:00 will give an early depart time for the 30nm trip. Marchwood is the location of a small, owner run club where we have always had a great night together eating in their clubhouse. The cruise includes seeing the delightful Netley Abbey, cruise liner spotting at Southampton docks and being close up to the huge container ships at the container terminal. Berthing involves rafting up on walk ashore pontoons that have water and limited shore power. A pontoon party will be held followed by dinner in the clubhouse. On Sunday morning we will move on to Gosport for the night and the option of an afternoon Gunwharf shopping trip and a meal out together. The next morning we will leave in time to use the itchenor HW of 11:00 for those returning to Chi or Birdham. Marchwood YC have now set a maximum number of boats for a rally to 15 and the maximum number of diners to 38.
