Round the Cans Pursuit Race

The Around the Cans race on Saturday will have a slightly more challenging course than normal ending up in Gosport Marina for the night. There will be a pontoon party and prize giving after the race followed by a group dinner in the Castle pub right next to the marina. The Pursuit race on Sunday is a staggered start with each boat having its own start time starting with the lowest handicap. In an ideal world if all boats sail to their handicap we should all finish together. The course will consist of a couple of laps round the same marks in Hayling Bay so everybody should be in sight of one another. This will lead to overtaking opportunities and the chance of pelting each other with whatever missiles come to hand to dissuade potential overtakers. Detailed racing instructions will be sent out before the race. The anticipated start time on Saturday will be around 13:00 and on Sunday starts will commence around 09:00.
