Yachts: Marchwood – Cruise Ships and Containers

The cruise is to Marchwood Sailing Club at the head of Southampton Water.  It is a small, owner run club where we have always had a great night.  The cruise includes seeing the delightful Netley Abbey, cruise liner spotting at Southampton docks and being close up to the huge container ships at the container terminal.  Berthing involves rafting up on walk ashore pontoons that have no shore power. A pontoon party will be held followed by dinner, which will either be a dinner together in the clubhouse or a BBQ. The briefing will be at 21:00 on Friday eve at CYC.  Lock bound boats will need to be on their way to Marchwood as soon as the rising tide lets them out, the Chichester Harbour Entrance low being at 04:20.  Departure on Sunday will be required in time to arrive in Chi Harbour on the rising tide, HW Chichester Entrance being at 12:30.
