Yachts: Ian Brunt Trophy : Yarmouth and Back Race/Cruise

The last race of the year and usually the most popular, our Yarmouth and Back race will berth overnight on the Harbour Walk-Ashore Pontoons. HW Chi is 10:35, so we currently plan an 09:45 start at Chi, so as to make best use of the westward tide. A group dinner will be booked once numbers are a little clearer. On Sunday, the tides may impose a fairly early start, so expect the smell of bacon sandwiches wafting over the start line, but all that will be discussed at the Friday briefing. Any boat that would like to take part in the race is welcome – you do not need to be an experienced racer to take part. Think of it as a cruise with a bit of competition thrown in. As usual, we will hold a briefing in the club on the Friday evening beforehand. Anyone who has not been on one of our competitive cruises before and is daunted by the term ‘race’ please don’t be.
