Yachts: Cross Channel Plate – Race/Cruise

The end of May sees us set course south to Cherbourg on the Friday for our annual Cross Channel race (or cruise in company for those not keen on racing). It is a great opportunity for those who have not crossed the Channel before to do it with a group of boats and have the various customs requirements explained before you go.

Those racing/cruising across to France for just the weekend can return from Cherbourg on the Sunday or Monday depending on weather/preference. If you wish to carry on, there will be a group heading westward back across the channel to the West Country for a few days lead by Nick Cole before heading back to Chi later in the week.

For the racing aspect of the crossing all you need to do depart within the set window and log your start and finish times, so you might as well do so and join in the fun. We will, as usual, have regular radio position checks so we all know where everyone is on the way across. More details will be provided in the lead up to the race, where details of the customs requirements will also be circulated.
