Details
At approximately 8 miles long, this walk covers slightly more distance than our regular rambles, with a later lunch. Setting off promptly at 10:00 from outside the Inglenook in Nyetimber, we will soon leave the road and head across fields to take in some of the countryside tracks and lanes to the north west of Pagham. Joining the Bill Way, (cycle route 88), for a while, we make our way south towards Sidlesham, where we turn east through lanes and fields, heading towards Pagham Harbour RSPB Nature Reserve. Upon reaching the harbour, we join the North Wall and walk the footpath along the top for some fine views over some of the 700 acres of inter-tidal saltmarsh. At the old Salthouse, we pick up another footpath and make our way steadily back to our start point. Upon reaching the Inglenook, after changing out of our muddy boots, we enjoy refreshments and a late lunch in the section of the restaurant that is reserved for us.
(Please note: if it has been particularly wet, the route may be changed on the day).
