Super Saturday for CYC Rowers on the Hamble

Our women's rowers put in an excellent performance on Saturday at Hamble River Raid to take first place, not only in the women's Celtic Longboat Class but also first Overall Celtic Longboat, rowing against mixed teams.  This community run event, which included over 100 paddle powered craft, is a demanding 7 mile long course on the River Hamble.  The race took just under 45 minutes for our crew, who benefitted from some excellent tactical coxing as well as skillful rowing from a cohesive team.  A wonderful happy atmosphere on and around the water in beautiful sunshine.  If you would like to find out more about rowing at CYC in either a fixed or sliding seat boat, please contact the office or Caroline at csbark@outlook.com
