Yachts: Western Solent Cruise to Lymington
Our cruise will go to Lymington in the Western Solent and berthing will be on the Dan Bran visitor pontoon. Berths have been provisionally booked for 15 boats. Payment for the berths will need to be made by each Skipper two (2) complete days before the cruise goes and directly to Lymington Harbour Commissioners (Tel 01590 672014).
HW Portsmouth is 0951 hrs on the 16th May 2023 so the tide will run westwards to Lymington from around 0800hrs until 1400hrs. The distance from West Pole to Lymington is 24Nm so the journey can easily be done within one tide. On arrival call the Harbour Master on VHF Channel 66 for berthing instructions, sometimes the berthing master is on the water by the pontoon to direct berthing. Rafting may be required.
There are many options for leisure in Lymington. A walk or cycle ride to the Gun Inn at Keyhaven, a cycle ride to the East End Arms at East End (or maybe further for the keen cyclists), shopping in Lymington or just relaxing on your boat with friends.
An evening meal will be arranged at Lymington Town Sailing Club on the Wednesday 17th May 2023. Further details will be issued nearer the time with the cruise notes.
HW Portsmouth on 18th May 2023 is 1214hrs with the East going tide running until approx. 1015hrs so an early start will be required for those returning to Chichester. However other options are available including joining Graeme & Helen’s cruise which follows on from this cruise and goes to Weymouth.
