Stoughton Loop Walk 15th January 2022

Thirty walkers gathered by the Hare and Hounds pub in Stoughton for the first walk of 2022. Boots on, food ordered and we were off. Although not as sunny as previous days, the weather was fine and dry and we made good progress to our coffee stop, by which time we had done most of the climbing.

Suitably refreshed, a few elected to return directly to the pub on the Monarch’s Way whilst the rest of the group continued on to Bow Hill and round to the Devil’s Humps. There we had extensive if a little hazy views in all directions, just managing to pick out Chichester Cathedral spire in the distant misty air.  A level section followed before our descent to Stoughton. The pub looked after us well and all enjoyed the food and cosy atmosphere.

It was good to see some new walk participants and thanks to everyone for joining us.
