Don’t miss our talk on the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race on Sunday, 14th January at 10.30am

Chris Harris is the Crew Recruitment Manager for the Clipper Round the World Race and will be telling us all about the race, including how to apply to become crew.

The Clipper Race is one of the biggest challenges of the natural world and an endurance test like no other. Organised to include participants with no previous sailing experience, this is a 40,000 nautical mile race around the world on a 70-foot ocean racing yacht. Participants are required to be over 18, with a good level of fitness, and a desire to be challenged by the natural elements.

The race is divided into eight legs and up to 16 individual races.  There are over 700 race crew, representing more than 50 nations and from all walks of life, who will complete the full circumnavigation or select individual legs. It is the only race in the world where the organisers supply a fleet of identical racing yachts, each with a fully qualified skipper to safely guide the crew.

The talk starts at 10.30am, coffee will be served from 10am.
