Solo

Welcome to the Solo Class at Chichester Yacht Club. The Solo Fleet is a very popular single handed class at CYC, and members have a range of boats from the traditional wooden built boats to the more modern FRP (Foam Reinforced Plastic) construction. The Solo has a strong legacy at CYC with Jack Holt’s involvement in the early days of the Club and the fleet welcome new members or curious enquiries from those thinking about changing to Solo sailing.

The Solo Fleet is a very competitive fleet and a good number of Solo Sailors participate regularly in CYC Club racing and there is some good handicap and Fleet racing. The CYC Dee Dum Trophy is a specfic club 1 day Solo class race. In 2012 CYC Solos took 2nd an 3rd places at Federation week, with over 40 Solos in that fleet.
